Managing Projects according PMBOK®Guide - basic training
Duration: 3 days
Participants get familiar with all common tools and methods of project management. They are able to use those methods in their daily projects and they can assess any use the methods might generate in the daily project work.
The training is based on A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) - Fifth Edition, Project Management Institute, Inc.
- project charter
- work breakdown structure
- schedule planning
- cost management
- quality standards
- roles and responsibilities
- risk management
Most of the training time is dedicated to practice project management methods. A smaller part is about transferring the necessary theoretical knowledge.
A complete project is planned in small groups. The example project is chosen by the participants. It may be a real project they are managing or going to manage. All best practice methods of project management are discussed, practiced and applied on the chosen project.
The training methods comprise primarily team work on the project, and a mix of individual exercises.
Finally all project management methods are summarized in a "recipe" how to get a realistic project management plan.
