Projects in a crisis?

A coaching program

1. Agree upon objectives

Each coaching starts with a preliminary talk to give coach and client the opportunity to get familiar with each other. Coaching is a relationship based on mutual confidence. For that reason the preliminary talk is very important. Coach and client decide afterwards whether to take up the coaching.

It is advisable that the project manager's superior is present during the preliminary talk. He or she explains the reason for the planned coaching and its objectives. The project manager is asked to explain his or her objectives. It is the coach's task to facilitate the discussion and make sure that both, project manager and superior get the opportunity to sum up their ideas.

As a result of the preliminary talk the agreement on the objectives is drafted. The superior is asked to monitor the coaching process and register any changes.
